  Noted events in his life were:

• Revolutionary War. 326 His pension application in 1821 states that he served about eight months in Captain James Gardner’s company in Colonel Varnum’s regiment in the “Camp before Gorton” in the year 1775, until his term expired on December 31 of that year. On about January 1, 1776, he re-enlisted for one year as a sergeant in Captain John Gooch’s company in the same Colonel Varnum’s regiment of the Rhode Island Line. He served in that capacity until his honorable discharge at the end of his term “in the State of New Jersey near Trenton.” He was in the battle of Trenton and Princeton and other skirmishes and “is now in indigent circumstances and needs the assistance of his Country.”
