Honors, Spring 1374. 763 Geoffrey was given a lifetime rent-free lease on a desirable property that straddled Aldgae in London with rooms about the gate and a cellar below. The on June 8, he was appinted to the lucrative and prestidious post of Controller of Customs and Subsidies on Wool in the nearby Port of London, an extremely responsible position. Four days later he was also appointed Contriller of Petty Customs on Wines. On june 13, John of Gaunt granted him a standard esquire's life pension of 10 pounds (3414 pounds today) per year.

Clerk of the King's Works, Jul 1389. 764 Geoffrey was appointed Clerk of the King's Works by Richard II. This post gave him overall responsibility for improvements to royal property and the building of new royal residences

Geoffrey married Philippa de Rot, daughter of Sir Gilles (Paon) de Rot and Unknown, by 12 Sep 1366 760.,761 (Philippa de Rot was born in 1351 762 and died in 1387 762.)
